Are you sure that the clutch is releasing properly? How does your throwout bearing sound? If you put the car in gear with the engine off then hold in the clutch and start it, does the car move at all? If it doesnt and your confident it isnt the clutch, I would try the quadrent next, not only is the plastic factory quadrent junk to begin with, a good aftermarket setup with an adjustable cable will run you less than $100 I think I paid $60.00 for mine. The quadrent is a pain to install but well worth it. So even if it doesnt fix the problem you will have a usefull upgrade. Syncros barely ever go bad in my experience. Syncros are only there for shifting between gears. If all else fails learn to double clutch like the good old ford crash boxes

All your sycros arent gonna go out at once, and if you have difficulty getting it into any gear and your fluid level is fine and your clutch cable is adjusted properly and you have plenty of pedal, then your quadrant is stretching / worn. Usually a good tell-tale sign is that when you first start shifting everything is fine, and then after a few shifts it starts to get tough.

ess......i'm having a similar problem and you mentioned the throwout bearing. mine squeaks when the clutch is fully out, but if i push it in a little it goes away. also, when i'm cruisin on the highway and i take my foot off of the clutch, it doesn't make any sound. anyway, could this have anything to do with the gears grinding. thanks

95redGT.....It certainly could, if the throwout bearing and or the fingers on the presure plate are worn, the clutch may not release fully. I'm not greatly experienced on the newer style mustang 94+ but I know with the older ones its a common problem.
