Default clicking but not startie

What up guys! Thought it was the starter but don't think so now. I got a fresh battery in it. But not getting power through the solenoid. I think I may have a safety gone bad somewhere. No power is getting through to the starter. Could this be a safety in the inginition switch, clutch, both.....any idea would be helpful. Also how to deal with safety issues as well. Thanks to all!

if it won't crank is what you mean it could have a bad clutch switch or selonoid on the fenderwell

Ya, actually I just added new post, they were nasty not anymore. When I turn the key the fuel pump fires up and the dash lights come up. When I turn again to start, sometimes it clicks, click click click, and sometimes it does nothing. Dead silence.

How can I test the selenoid or clutch safety switch????

with a test light check for current on the small wire going to selonoig while holding key in crank and test for current to always hot side of selonoid and on the sarter side if you have current on small wire but not on starter side replace selonoid
