Default transmission trouble

Hello, my name is mike and i am having transmission trouble with my 1987 for mustang gt. I had a new motor and a new cobra clutch installed in my car and the stock transmission went up so i had my brother-in-law put a tremec transmission in it that come out of a 2000 mustang 6cly. when we try to start the car with the clutch pushed in and the car in gear it rolls and will not start if he puts the car in nutral and pushes the clutch in the car will start and not roll but it is very hard to put the car in gear can you please help

tighten the cable, doesnt sound like it's really disengaging the clutch. if it rolls forward when you go to start it, then it's still transfering the power to the back, tighten the cable and then try again, you may have to tighten it a few times to get it right

do you have an adjustable cable and quadrant, like an aftermarket one i mean?

it does have a adjustable cable its not aftermarker

hmm, i know they came with those self adjusting ones but if it's the original... get one from ford racing or something, it's 100 bucks for the kit from them. i know i had that happen with the stock one before and i got the new quadrant and cable and that fixed it

ditto with redpony88. mine did same thing. new cable with adjustablity and that will stop. tighten until its where you want it.

ok i got the new cable on and still no change could it be the cobra clutch not wanting to work with that transmission?

are you sure the tranny is good? and also did you keep tightening the cable down? if not then keep going and it should eventually stop it, if not is the clutch disc in there correctly?
