The master does not have to be removed. Just making extra work.
When I did my equal lengths, they were not going to fit between the AC line and master cylinder even with the engine jacked to one side. The Master Cylinder is all of what, 2 bolts? Took maybe a minute to remove and the header went right in with no fighting and no scratching my ceramic coating. Might have been able to do it that way and never even jack the engine.
when I did my shorties, I unbolted the ONE bolt that holds the steering shaft in place, swung it out of the way, and slid the drivers side header in from the bottom.
