Default Fuel Leak

When I turn on the fuel pump with the key on my 1990 gt, fuel squirts on the ground or drips....
I raised it up and one of the hoses got melted from the exhuast.. The line that goes from the fuel filter around the side of the tank...

I gotta wake up early tom morning and fix this before work so I from 7am-1pm to get this done.

AM I GONNA have to TAKE OUT THE GAS TANK...???? i'm gonna be pissed... Someone tell me this won't take long and I won't have to do that... btw, I have no extra hands and about a half a tank in there.. 8gallons of gas I guess....

aghhhh

well to replace it u will nee to take off the straps and lower it down a little to get the clip off the end of the line.

that would be the right way or if u have something to put inside the hose and then cut out the bad spot and clamp down both sides of the break.[8D]

It depends where the leak is comming from on the hose. IF its close to the fuel filter you might be able to get it to stop leaking temporarily until you get some time after work or something to fix it. I'm not positive but I don't think that the line is accessible where its going into the tank, might have to drop it. With two people its not hard at all, especially if you have access to air tools.

So, i took out my gas tank....

Looks like FORD discontinued the damn fuel lines.... WHILE I was at NAPA, I decided to get all the parts necessary to make my own hoses... The only problem is that they don't have the specific bends in them..

Anyways, i decided to get that while I was out.... might just get something off of SUMMIT... idunno......

I pressure it's a hard line? tubing benders and flare kits are cheap (make sure it's automotive flare and nothome water line)and with some patience it's not hard to bend your own line. Buy a bit more than the length required, use the old piece as a template, and you'll be fine.
