If you plan on preping it better later on than just hit it with the primer out of a spray can. of course that is just gonna add extra work for you down the road when you plan to prep it real good. hell you might as well get a spray can of paint matching closely to what color your car is now and just paint it. otherwise its gonna be as tacky as the red paint you have on it now.

i actually might be getting it pro painted this weekend for under fifty dollars. my buddy is geting his whole car done in black so he said just to throw my hood in with him and he'll see what he can do. if not i'll just prime it. doesn't bug me to have it primer gray. imho its much better than red. atleast primer looks like your actually attempting to get it ready ahha
