Default get rid of e.g.r.

on a 5.0 efi, is there any way you can delete the e.g.r. or does that mess with the computer??????
also wondering about the vaccum cannister, i have removed the smog a long time ago and am now rebuilding.......
all the vaccum lines for that and whatever is on the inner fender well, passenger side by the firewall, seem all useless and are just taking up space, any input would be greatly appreciated............

If you are OBDI, you will throw codes.
Do you know that deleting the EGR will decrease your mileage?

just leave **** alone, messign with things that are not broke is futile.
removing emissions on a stockish engine is a waste of time.
like i said, you can expect a 1-3mpg drop if you remove egr.

anyone who knows anything about emissions knows that the egr contains gas vapors that havent been burnt through the combustion cycle... losing vapors, losing gas, losing mpg.

Remove smog equipment, remove EGR, install block plate, buy an EGR eliminator resistors plug, install it to the EVP connector and you're done. As soon as the EEC detects an EGR failure code, it will automatically delete/bypass its function + it will not affect A/F or driveability. The resistors plug will cause an EGR code 33 to be logged, and it will not cause the CEL to illuminate.
