Car stops pulling in 1st????

Hey guys, having aproblem after getting my rebuilt converter back. I have a 327 hooked up to a C4 tranny and since having the tranny gone over particulalry the converter, the car stops pulling in 1st gear, but pulls fine through 2nd and 3rd. Normally this car pulls right up to about 8000 but in first stops well before (6000)the shift point (7400). What could be the problem here? Thanks.

it just feels like the power drops away but is there again in 2nd and 3rd.
