Project 5.GO!

Guys, I'm tired of switching out junkyard window motors and door lock actuators. They are just pretty much used up. On the other hand, buying them new from the stealership would be either impossible, or prohibitively costly. Anyone ever got an off-brand actuator or window motor that lasted forever and want to share the source? I just want the stuff to work, and don't want to ever take off my door panels again!! [:@]

Got my replacement window motors from autozone. I believe they were actually Siemens, work great, easy install, no issues since. I want to say about $100 each.

I got my window motors from 50resto 2 years ago and they still work the same. for door lock actuators i found the ONLY way to keep them alive is to COVER them with dielectric grease all over.

Ya i got to get mine fixed to lol, didnt realize this was such a big problem with foxes. My windows are ok they work lol, they shake sometimes though.

Mines does that too...i think the track that holds the glass is just loose, but Im not taking the panels off just for that.

you need new track bushings from 50resto. they are small plastic squares, 2 for each door, that guide the window along the track. not too hard to install, just gotta loosen the track from the bottom of the door once the panels are off

I need to replace my door lock actuators and my right rear quarter window motor. I will probably take the door panels off and replace the window track bushings as well. The window (driver's especially) shake quite a bit on the way down. To the OP i was just going to get everyting from Late Model Restoration. Anyone know of a manual or a write up on how to do it?

what do you mean by 'all over' ? i've changed my actuators like maybe six times. they seem to die after a few months. i've tried different brands too.
