Default single to dual exhaust

I've got an '82 GT w/factory single exhaust. I just bought a factory h-pipeoff of a 91 along with the cross member off the same. Will the flanges bolt to my stock manifolds? Will my 4-speed mount work on the new cross member? Where can I find the rest of the hangers? Thanks, Dennis

Bolt to the 82 stock manifolds....it should, if not get some EFI stockers for cheap
yes the 4 speed will work with the crossmember...may have to cut some welds on the crossmember to get it to slide on on the bushing housings for adjustability.
www.latemodelrestoration.com for hanger parts

Why you ask? The car is completely stock, and i meancompletely stock, rightdown to the TRX wheels. I've owned the car since '89 and it has been on blocks and covered since '92. I just got it on the road about a month ago.Had to replace theentire cooling system from sittting.Just rebuilt the factory two barrrel and it runs as good as itdidnew. 40 oz. of R-12 in the A/C and it'scomming out@ 37 degrees. I want to keepit a original as possible but the looks and sound (even with the cats) would be a huge improvement. The single exhaustonit is26 years old, though it dosent leak horribly, only a small hole at the muffler, I know any money I spend on it won't be satisfying. If I go with a later model stock exhaust I shouldn't effect the overall value of the car too much. Thanks, Dennis

Thanks for the info 83gt, I am heading to my shop right now to mill the slots in the cross member. The guy i got the parts from says he has got a set of stock headers for $40. I guess it's a good deal being as I can't seem to find an unstripped 5.0 in the junk yard. I am looking at a Flowmaster 2.25" cat back system on e-bay, price is right. By the way your car looks great!! Any problem with the cobra-r 17's. I am also looking at an aftermarket set of the same. I am debating whether to go with 17x8 in the front and 17x9 in the rear or just get all 4 17x8's so I can rotate them. Thanks again, Dennis

If you want to put 17's on your car you will need to upgrade to the 91-93 fenders. The wheel wells are wider to accomidate for the 16" ponies. If you keep what you have you will end up rubbing on the inner fender wells prolly around the full lock of the steering.

[&:] Bad information. My car is lowered an 1.5" and I have 17x8 with 245/40/17 tires and only get slight rub at full lock. I have never heard anything about 91-93 Mustangs having wider fenders then 79-90.

MAybe they won't rub, Why do you think that when you look up new fenders that they don't list 79-93?

For example:
