Default need to beef up my t5 could use a little advice

so i am going to need a new transmision kind of soon and im looking to see what is the most bang for my buck. i want something that is capable of handling700 hp or so because future mods will probably take me there with in a few years.

so what tranny should i go with? or would a rebuilt t5 get me there if i rebuild it with better parts? o and i wanna keep it a manual

I'm sure that the responses you are going to get here are the TKO 600 or Astro Performance has a rebuild kit and or rebuild service that will beef your tranny up.

Are you going to be racing alot? I would reccomend a C4 with a manual valve body...that way its consistant at the track but you still have the "stick" feel too.

I went and got the gear set from astro performance and my t-5 drives like stock, but doesnt break. I made 559rwhp and it loves 5500 rpm launches with 4.30 gears.

Anyone know how Astro's rebuilt t5's are? I was looking the the ones rated for 350 or 400hp. My trans is starting to go out on my car now. My car only has 240 to the wheels right now, but of course I want to add to it in the future. Is it worth spending around $700

i have a built th400 in my trans am and ill tell ya i wouldnt trade it for a 5 speed. i love rowin the gears on the street but in a racing setup automatic is the way to go and with 700hp your gonna be too buisy trying to keep it out of the trees to be shifting gears. a c4 rev. man. VB with a 2800stall is still a great time on the street. going 30mph in 2nd gear i can punch it and rope all of 2nd shift 3rd and spin upto about 55-60 mph. thats when you decide that maybe autos just have a bad rep because of factory tight converters and super soft shifting.

tk0 500 or 600 depending on your power level and a blowproof bellhousing would be a good idea if you'll race it alot
