speedometer problems

Default speedometer problems

Ihave replaced my speedo cable and the speed sensor. the wires for the sensor do not match in color but i have tried them both ways.. I cant get it to work and its a big problem for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so the speedometer doesn't register??? if so make sure the drive gear assembley is mated to the driven gear inside tranny on tailshaft and if it is it'll spin the cable at the other end where it is connected to speedo head unit ..if that turns then it most likely is a bad head unit

Everything is spinning.. the speedometer goes back and forth all the way and then back... What do you mean by head unit

Even if the needle is movin this could be the problem thats alot of money to spend for that not to be it

AS LONG AS THE CABLE IS TURNING AND NOT BINDING, and the gear drive assembly in tranny is fine, then that is the only other prob....find a known good used cluster and throw it is to test.. I keep a few spare ones just for that purpose
