5.0 HO from lincoln Mark VII into a Mustang
I have a 85 gt and the motor went out on it. I picked up a motor with only 80000 on it and it came out of a 1991 mark VII i think. It has a double hump pan but it looks a bit differnt then the one on my mustang. will it work? Also the motor mounts that advanced sells for the mark VII are also the mounts they sell for a 85 convertable. If i use the mounts from the Mark vII will they work? And if so why w differnt part numbers for a coupe and a convertable on the mustang? Your help will be greatly appretiated. Thanks.

Vert mounts do lower the engine a little and you shouldn't have any issues with the fan hitting the shroud. Prothane engine mounts are made that way too. Just use the oil pan off your old motor.

yup just use the oil pan off your old engine and you will be fine. get a new set of mounts and you will be good to go again and i doubt that engine has 80k on it every junk yard you go to says that the engine has between 60 and 90k all the time
