My cousin has a 1990 mustang gt 5spd and he is having trouble with his starter..About 1 month ago his car started to start pretty bad so we changed the starter out for a new one.. then about 1 week ago the solioned stuck and cuased the starter and solienod to break...So we put a new one in again and within 2 days the solieniod once again got stuck and it cuased the starter to fry once again.. We are lost to as what is cuasing this problem....

could be a bad ignition switch or tumblar hanging up......keep the battery cable on loosely so if prob occurs you can pull it off quickly or put quick disconnects on battery cable..and when prob occurs see if current is on the small wire to selonoid if there isn't prob is with cheap selonoid or bendix sticking on starter

how could you check for a bad ignition switch cuase thats what we were going to next

when the problem occurs and you'll have to be quick ..that's why I said keep battery cable loose or install quick disconnect... have a test light handy and check for current on the small wire going to selonoid..this wire is from ignition switch..it should not have current on it in run position ..only crank ..if it does when prob occurs =possible bad ignition switch.. but make sure lock and tumblar are returning fully from crank to run position when prob occurs.. I've seen them stick a little before
