car lags when returning to idle

car lags when returning to idle
i got a 91 5 liter and if i hit the throttle it pauses and returns to idle real slow, and when i start it it idles at 1500 until i start to drive, the hotter it gets the worse it runs, then bucks eventually...any suggestions?
