Karma, save your money and buy some heads. The stock heads are the major restriction. Not to knock md, but if you have to take the damn things off, do it to replace them. If you want to trial and error with porting, there's nothing wrong with that either. It's just that after seeing the flow #'s for ported stock vs out of the box aftermarkets, you'd be more impressed with just heads than any other mod.

Yea it does. And for anyone who thinks it is better to buy a set of aftermarket heads than port the stockers... you are right of course, and ported stockers wont flow as good as stock aftermarket heads... right again... but not everyone has the $$$ to spend 1k on a set of new heads, when they can get10 - 20hp just from removing the smog humps, and while your at it you can go ahead and port match the intake as well (just dont make it bigger than the gasket). Here is a pot shot at the smog hump on your head (E7TE). The smog hump is at the bottom as this is an upside down pic:</P>

Touche, md, I think of all the neat ****, but forget sometimes that people can't afford it. I've been in that ballpark, on and off for years. Some times are good, others, not so good.

That's a hell of a bump in those heads, and after seeing that, I can see why the stock heads are the biggest drawback to performance. Get rid of that and tidy up some rippling in the port, got to be better than stock. I might even try it myself.

that exhaust port is digusting , i dont bother with thoses heads any more they suck , no room to grind ont the exhaust , arron no , the dont have these humps on the pi heads . i save some $$ on some of my build ups by getting old 351 heads and grinding them up , they get some decent numbers after im ,decet work gets them close to gt40 flow . but thats me
