Default Hatch Problems

Has anyone ever had problems with their hatch not wanting to latch shut?

Im guessing Ill need a new striker... Just wanted to see if anyone had had the same problem and if its possible to just shim the latch to where it would be low enough to engage the striker.

Mine won't latch either, but I have had too many other things I have been working on/ fixing on the car and I haven't gotten a chance to look and see why. If there is a common problem with these, I'd also be interested to know what it is

you can adjust the striker up loosen it using a torx bit i think its a 45 maybe 47. if your plastic peice around it is gone then its too thin to keep the latch closed, i wrapped some tape around mine one time for a temporary fix.

Not sure where you can get hinges, they might carry them at a local parts store. Call around and check.

Ive seen people use the tape fix before too[8D].

As far as adjusting my striker, tried it last night and it didnt do much. Have a feeling Ill be buying a new latch today.

you can get new pins and bushings for the door hinges, i like doing it that way, way cheaper and usually you wont have to mess with alligning the door when your done.

Turns out I just need a new plastic bushing on the striker. Thought Id try the good ol' tape fix and when that worked I just swapped the tape out for the bushing off an old door striker.
