easy way to tell is gt-40's have angled plugs and P's have straight.. on the front of the head there will be a 3 bar marking for gt-40's and 4 bar for p's

regular 40's have 1.84/1.54 valves, not sure what p's have but p's have slightly smaller cumbustion chambers and require unique headers or bbk shorties to work in a fox

you have to have p specific headers to run p heads, they flow better but u need new headers for them, the plug is at a different angle.

i already have BBK shortys, i was thinking about the GT40's for now , until i get the trickflow heads in the future, anything is better than stock! im sure a set of GT40's will hold me for awhile, along with intake etc...

Anybody know what year explorer i would need to get the heads off of ??

why not just get the gt40p's now, if u go to a junk yard they are usually same price, and then u wont have to get the p's later, better flow im telling you!! its the best way to go
