(this is a old picture, but im using it to illistrate)
this is a picture ilistrating obvious blown parts of the gasket on the intake, the circled parts are missing chunks of the gasket, and also have burnt marks around them.
the bottom circle burnt my freaking vavle covers, som intense stuff!
this one you can planinly see the sides been blown out, i covered it with my thumb, but it doesent seem to help the car idle or anything.

GET THIS!
so i plug the hole in the "vaccum tree" and then i take one hand and plug the blow gasket on the top of the intake, and my other hand and try to plug the other blow side of it on the bottom.
the car smooths out a HOLE lot, but is still hunting for idle.
i might have got off easy, might just be that side gasket thing on the intake, the vaccum tree, and the maf!

check that out!
$60 is a little much, but being buillit, you wouldent have to worry about it cracking anymore!!!
something some of you guys might wanna look into

indeed, it would be a relief if all i had to do was un-bolt that little side plate and replace that.
no sence to tear the engine down if i throw a new gasket on there and the mustang comes back from the dead!

considering i sprayed at 3k rpm, and everything else was strait, the only thing that might been a out of wack was the timing set at 12-13*

your ticking sounds like a head gasket. your best bet is to do tear the engine down to the head gaskets checking each component you take apart. replace all the obvious parts and anything else that looks defective. if the car still runs rough perform a compression test to determine if theres anything with the bottom end of the motor. good luck
