Default A few questions...

Hey all

I was considering a '94-95 GT (possibly vert) as my next car, but I wouldn't be able to afford one anytime soon (ie within the next couple of years)..so I'm now considering an 87-93 GT hatch. How fast are they stock, and approx. how much extra would I be looking at to get one to run high 13s in the quarter? What are the differences between the 5.0 LX & GT?

I definitely want a 5.0 hatchback w/manual tranny..(or sn95..but that's out of the question for now)..any suggestions?

LX's are faster... less body weight <img border="0" src= "http://smilies.crowd9.com/otn/happy/pain3.gif>

what sicy said.... fox's in general r lighter than any sn95.... a 92 lx 5 speed stock trim could hit 14.9 ... so it's not that hard to make a fox stang fast.... they respond better to mods than do the sn95s' do...... 13's is easy to achieve... 12's usually is too...

They're also quite a bit cheaper...how many miles can you usually get on the engine before it needs a rebuild? Basically, is a high mileage (~120k) car going to be okay for a while? Also, how much $ is involved in bringing it down from high 14s to...say 12.x?

What's the difference between LX ('87-93) & GT ('87-93) aside from weight, and should I expect to pay around KBB value, or a bit below? I hear the '93s were the worst of the foxbodies..is this true?

I'd prefer no nitrous, but thanks for the suggestion =)

What would 3.73s & Flowmasters do for the 1/4? How do foxbodies handle..say compared to a '98 Corolla (all I have to compare with...lol)?

Sorry for all the questions..

Got a question for you fox heads....

WTF is a sn95 or any other lil codes out there?

LX and HX, what's the difference? Engines, tranny's, body style.....I'm admiting I don't know a lotta Oval-specific stuff, but I wanna learn, so hey, go for it.

And if you *** rape me, please be kind enough to give me gause or something to bandage my wounds.

fox the production name given to 93 and older stangs.. sn95 94 or newer....a 5.0 will run forever don't worry about how many miles it has...the only difference between a lx and gt is the body kit... u can get both lx and gt in 5.0 5 speed trim....
