are special gaskets required for aftermarket intakes, or will stock gaskets fit? or does it depend?

long ago, my 95gt stock intake was replaced by a ford performance (?) piece. i dont know the model info on the new upper/lower.

Stock will work just fine. No need for performance gaskets since the intake ports in the head arent any larger. If you go with an aluminum head with a bigger intake port then get something like the felpro 1250 or 1262

Best to get the felpro (1262) I think thats the one for most aftermarkets. The stock one retains the small stock shaped rectangles and therefore your new intake becomes useless.

I had a stock one and just trimmed the gasket open more.

actually, the heads arent stock. ported gt40's. so i can get the performance or get the stock and trim them apparently?

I'd just go with the felpro 1250 or similar. You could trim the stock gaskets, but if you mess up you just ruined the gasket.
