Unhappy aftermarkket tach problems in a 1989 mustang

i bout a after market tach i have evrything hooked up right acept the green wire witch reads the rpm wwhen i hook it up to the negitive side of the coil my car willnt start or it starts and runs like complete *** nd stalls any ideas ive done this so many times nd this is the first time im runing into this problem

are you saying it only runs like crap when the tac is hooked to neg side of coil??

get one of those inline splices where you push the metal clip down into it, if your just shovin it in the connector it might be causing not a direct conn. and causing problems.

did you put a splice in connector or did you just shove it in the coil?
