Default 5.0 computer

i have a 5.0 from a 93 thunderbird i plan on putting into my mustang
is there any differences in computers between the mustang 5.0 ho and the thunderbird 5.0 and are there any differences that sacrifice power?

good question, i am also interested in this. also the lincoln lsc had the 5.0 in it as well.

Check the firing order of the tbird compared to the HO... I don't remember what the tbird was, but I don't think it matches up...

'93 T-Birds used the "GT40" HR cam version w/out the 1.7 rockers, same 351w/HO firing order.

well the 5.0 ho has 1.7 rockers?
and why does the thunderbird have less hp?
and whats the difference in computers

That is the GT40 or the cam that was used in the Cobra engine with the 1.7 rockers, not the regular HO engine. IOW..... T-Birds used the Cobra HR cam w/out the 1.7 rockers that were standard in the Cobra setup with the GT40 heads.

'93 T-Bird computers are the pre-SN95 version, no BAP sensor used, 100% load based (not rpm based) + EEC pinout is different to the fox EEC's.

and what ratio rockers came with the tbird motor?

1. The 351w Lightning, due to its higher CID. 302 (5.0L)?.... '85-'92 Mustangs.
2. Aside the Cobra setups, everything else used 1.6 ratio rockers.....
