Any specific reason there would be an excessive amount of carbon build up in my intake manifold?

Got the car looked at today and im pleased with the results. The only thing the car needs is an oil pan gasket. But the throttle was soooo dirty that it couldnt maintain idle. Clean it up and your good as new. Plus a tune up and its ready to rock the streets

you think I don't know how to fix your problem??? well see the problem is with your vague description of symptoms it could be 1 of a 100 different things would you like me to start getting technical??? gauranteed I'd loose you in 2 sec..., do a tune up first and clean the maf if it has a maf and lightly mist coil and wires checking for any arcing before replacing any stuff, if you see arcing , start with a tune up and go from there....there is that good enough???

yes the pcv system draws it's source vaccum from there so all crank case vapors enter the intake and crud it up. frequent induction cleans by such shops who use BG products will solve carbon build up in the intake

I usually just spray the filaments with brake parts cleaner. Do not touch them, they are fragile.

Only in reverse ? Take the cap off your distributor and see if you got the inside wet.
