Default clutch ?

Well I only had minor damage from Gustav and that was to my clutch cable. I haven't driven my car no more than about 10 miles since i put the motor in it because it just isn't ready for the road yet. But since Gustav was coming in and my house is surrounded by trees and after katrina I thought it would be best to move my car to my parents field about 10 miles away. After the storm when bring the car home my clutch cable broke. My question is on the adjustment on the clutch it's a 85 which is suppose to adjust by pulling up the pedal right, that didn't work, when i adjusted it original i had to have someone press the pedal down why i was under the car then have them let it go and pull it up why i held the fork from going all the way back to where it start. The clutch felt fine when driving it but didn't put no more than maybe 30 miles before it broke i'm hoping it was just a bad cable i got a new one coming looking for some thoughts on this

happened to me also twice, stock cables dont hold up with performance clutches according to the mustang shop by me. Had to do the adjustment thing under the car and it kept stretching itsself out. got an aftermarket one and had no problems since.

i use the ford racing quadrant and cable, the cable that came with it seems to be better than the stock one imo
