code readers
do they make readers that will read codes from my 95gt and from my 03 corolla, and from a 99accord?
i think they do, but will it read every code or will there be some manufacturer specific codes that may not be able to be read by the same unit?
also, what are you guys using?

FOR THE OBD 2 CARS you will often get a manufactorer specific read out that will be of no help to you unless you reference it to a code description chart as for the 95 all you need to do to read codes is perform a manual DIY KOER TEST which if you google it you should be able to find one by joel5.0 on my shifter.com........scan tools that are both obd 1 and 2 capable will cost you!! the key is having the correct software....IMO for the harry homeowner on a obd 1 car is do the diy koer test on a ford = costs you nada!!!

yeah, ive done the code test using the analog meter in the past (way way in the past), reading the pulses and looking it up. i wasnt sure though if there are additional codes that cant be read in this manner, plus i have the other cars to look at as well, so the cost would be only the difference between one that reads II or one that reads both.(but apparently the difference can be quite large)
