i wasn't as lucky as others who have posted in here. the stock motorcraft one in my 93 lx only made it to 73k miles. the relay shorted out the pump so i had to replace them both. new 255 pump, and relay has already lasted longer than the original at almost 80k miles. on my 03 mach 1 the original one lasted 70183 miles. a lot of people say that i was lucky to have it last that long with all the mods, and boost on that car. i was modding it when it only had a couple thousand miles on it. constantly running your tank until the idiot light comes on overheats the pump thus cutting down the lifespan. old clogged fuel filters are detrimental as well.

i had a 73 mach 1 when i was younger, and the original mechanical pump went to like somewhere around 125k. i thought that was a lot for a car built in 73. i had a 73 f-250 also years ago with the mechanical pump that i replaced, and was still going after almost 100k.
