Default Gas Gauge

Well I was drivin last night and took off from a red light, when i looked down my gas gauge was dead, now my question is do you guys think something coulda came lose or a ground came disconnected? when it comes to wiring im a noob lol, so where do you guys think i should look?

not uncommon for sending unit in the tank to go bad

yeah sounds like the sender went bad... i had the same problem in mine...

X3 sending unit

I still haven't fixed mine. I just fill up around 200 miles on a fill up

there is more to a gas gauge going bad then just the sending unit..

true...

but i tested my fuel gauge it was good.

so what else could it be...a short??

i just assumed it was the sending unit cause the gauge was good

Well I personally didn't...when my buddy(mechanic) helped me do my heator core he said he checked the gauge will the cluster was out and was ok...

so I don't know what exactly he did...he did use a meter....
