Default How do I replace my door handle?

My passenger side door handle is gone. Anyone has a write up on how to replace it?

I think I need to drill out the rivets (which I've never done before) and then connect and rivet in the new?

Anyone have instructions?

You can drill them.. If drilling then I would punch out the center with like a punch first then fit the drill bit so the dill wont walk on you then and scratch your paint.. Then do like mjr46 said linkage then you need a rivet gun.

I just did this and it was easy.Drilled out old rivets while holding handle up.Instead of using rivets to reinstall I used black button head allen bolts w/nut and washer on inside and it turned out great, just in case I have to take off again on my freshly painted door drilling would make me nervous, even tho I do have a rivet gun and the rivets.

Opening from the inside is a linkage issue, in my experience anyway...
Pull your door panel and look for some bent rod kinda stuff.

I used carriage bolts instead of rivets to install the new handles. Make sure you buy METAL handles... and not the plastic replacements.

Using the carriage bolts meant I had to square up the holes, but a little time with a small hand file took care of that...

It may not even be the linkage... I'm just offering that as a possibility based on my experience.

I didn't have to replace the linkage, just had to bend it back into shape...
