I have a 91 gt convertible and just had a new top put on it, it might be because the top was ran up a lot lately but now the motor doesn't work, I have power out of the relay and the wire lights up a test light just before entering the motor, am I missing something? Maybe a ground? The motor wasn't moved during the top replacement---thanks for any help.

......go back to the motor and test for power and ground back at the motor and if you do = bad motor, I always start from the back and work forward with a system cause alot of the time the "load consumer" is what is bad

I have power at the motor when the switch is pushed---I guess I'll try anothe motor.

check the ground too!!! if both check out = new motor needed

I had some bad brushes inside my motor. They had worn down so bad that the power was not getting to the armature. Ford does not sell new brushes but I did make a set that I had to custom fit, and they have been working great for about 10 years now. If you buy a set for a motor that is close to the size you need, with a bit of time and sanding they are easy to fit. Good luck!
