Default manual transmission

how hard would it be,once the motor is out of my car, to convert the stock automatic transmission to a manual and how long ould it take.it is a stock 93 lx.any help would be great thanks.and by the way which kind of tranny would be best for this daily driver?<edited><editID>bobby</editID><editDate>37924.5389351852</editDate></edited>

if it was me I would buy a beefed up C-4with a 2500 stall covertor with shift kit..this will make you as fast if not 1-2 tenths quicker with no missed shifts as well as being easier on the drive train. if you do ALOT of highway driving then the old 4 speed automatic is the way with a stall and shift kit with a big trans cooler

you would need , the whole pedel assembly, clutch cable, compete bellhousing assembly, a trans,flywheel, maybe adiffrent driveshaft, if ya want to do this.. find a donor car and take EVERYTHIGN from the manual trans setup

Yep, conversions are a pain, you're better off finding a factory 5-speed and using that.

Driveshaft should be same length between aod and t5.

I agree with the C-4 man. Thats whatI did and I love It. Just make shure you use your AOD flex plate if the tork converter will bolt up because u need that 52 oz whate for a roller motor. Its cheeper than buying one, and uont wont have to change starters.</P>
