Default Car dies when idling..sometime

my starter just went out.. after having the new one installed, when i first start the car.. my rpms drop down form 1000 to 500 and my voltage meter to my battery drops down. Then it goes back up to 1000 and runs fine or stalls. Could this be a bad battery or has anyone seen or experianced this before? i appreciate the help!

Default Car dies when idling..sometime

<FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" color=green size=3>My car does the same thing now. WhenI start it for the first time for the day it runs rough. I was told it is a part on the throttle body. I can't remember what the part is called, butI think it regulates the idle. My mechanic, also a 5.0 owner, explained that this accumulates carbon after a few years. It's like a $40 part from ford. Not a serious problem though. His does it to. Still, check the battery and alternator. </FONT><edited><editID>92FordGt</editID><editDate>37924.9114814815</editDate></edited>

yea what he said. You can remove the IAC and spray the carbon off with brake cleaner. works wonders. dont use carb cleaner as it leaves a residue
