195 degrees Thermostat?
1988 Mustang GT with 110k Miles with underhood air drawer air intake and I still got original headers so it's quite hot underhood... I live in Quebec where it's a little bit colder but the car never sees either winter or rain. Should I go for a 195 degrees thermostat? Are there problems getting this? Thanks!

RE: 195 degrees Thermostat?
but when the car runs close loop, it has more power.when a car runs slightly rich it has more power. For instance, when ever I first start my car it has the most power and runs real good and has power, but once it warms up and or goes into open loop, th power is a little less. I always wanted my car to run like it does when I first start it. so thats your answer, yes youll use a little more gas but your car runs a little faster. so if thats a sacrafice your willing to make get a 160. and to, it will go itto open loop with the 160, it will just take longer, instead of the car being fully warmed up in 20min it will take 1hr. it will eventually go into open loop after the car has been running for a longer period of time. but its up to you, you cant go wrong with the 180 though.
