Smile Carb to EFI conversion?

I am looking into buy foxbody next week and i am stuck between the two. one is a 86 with a 92 front end but needs alot of body work. and a 83 with a few dents and a crack in the floorboard (no rust yet). they are priced about the same but i wanted a efi fox, so what im asking is it cheaper to just go with a efi car and do a lot bodywork or swap to efi?

thanks

Go with whatever you like better...I just completed a EFI to Carb swap and it was pretty straight forward, thanks to some e of the other members helping out. Bust once again, it's going to be your car.

why in the world would you swap a 83 carb to efi?!?!
i just built up an 83, i pulled the Same motor out of my 88 sold it and put EVERYTHING out of that car into this one but i swapped to a weiand stealth intake and a holley 750. it runs WAY better than the 88 ever would i hate efi, it's more expensive to do. on efi, you can buy a good intake for 600, injectors for about 250, t/b 150, egr spacer 70, cai 120........ carb it's about 150-250 for a good intake, and a carb for 200-300. no need for cai, t/b, EGR since its 25 years old you have no emmissions. plus you dont have to have someone tune your car... you can go to a parts store and pickup a carb tuning guide if you dont know anyone who knows about carbs. carbs are WAY better IMHO. if i didnt have emmissions on my 95 i'd carb it as well

i know quite a few guys have done the efi to carb swap and i havent heard anyone say it was bad nor say it was a bad idea. i pulled the motor out of my 88 and put it in my 83 and put a carb on top and even though i have the exact driveline out of the other car.... i would have beat my 88 hands down. i love my carb'd 5.4 lol

I'm doing research now on it. Really leaning that way.

Anyone have any rec intake & carb setup?

I have removed all the emissions crap except the EGR valve. I know she could run better, but not really wanting to spend the loot on injectors intake etc. Probably much cheaper to go carb setup and not worry about the computer.

Any tips or feedback on this would be great, I may start a new thread on EFI to carb.
