tko's are good transmissions, but like the t-5 they still use a weak brass synchro..as the rpms get higher between gears you will notice the stubborness on getting that clean shift.

personally if you are spending that kind of money on a tko or t-56.. you got to ask yourself what are "you" looking for?..reliability?..extra gear?..

i have had my tko 500 for over 7yrs and it has never been pulled, but 3rd is a pita at times.

if i was going to get another tremmec it will be faceplated the very least.

my experience with all of them is the t-5 is a pos!!! the tko is a very strong trans but can be hard to hit gears at times and the t-56 is a very potent trans also and has a lot nicer shifts then the tko.... i personally love my t-56 i currently have.... good luck with it....

The t56's seem pretty awesome for a standard production tranny. Plenty of people holding 5-600 hp reliably on their stock t56's. Not to mention, if you can find one at a junk yard you could probably get one cheap. For instance, my buddy and I got one for 200 bucks.
