Default Good chip for an `87 T-Bird?

I have a 1987 T-Bird Sport(302 5.0) and I've been slowly building it up. I just threw on a new suspension and shocks and man I love how this car handles. I have a 700R4 tranny in my garage from my other car that will be going in it as soon as it gets warm out along with a shift kit(yes.. aod.) BBK pulleys, CAI, two Toyo Proxes on the rear and a new distributor have been put in this month too.

I've been wanting to upgrade the chip and I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions. Taxes are coming around soon so I'll be able to throw a pretty big chunk of money into the engine.

edit: Also a suggestion on a good FORD tranny too. I'd like to keep my car all Ford if possible

Chip, as in computer? Save your money. Unless you have some hefty mods, a chip will be worthless.

I don't think a chip would do much. For the tranny you could build the AOD up or get a C4 or a C6.

Swap it to MASS AIR before you ever even attempt to start building anything worth a damn or tuning or take the cheaper easier and dollar for dollar better gains and go carbed.

Nothing like tuning with a few simple hand tools as opposed to the expensive computer tuning.
