T5....Do any of these parts need replacing?
#31
best thing I ever did was to by a how to video before I ever rebuilt my first T5. Hanlan motorsports has an excellent video and badshoe productions also has a really good video. I have both and learned different things from each one. like I said it was money well spent and these videos make it so any one can rebuild a T5. have you already ordered the parts???? I would tare the transmission down FIRST that way you know exactly what you need before you ever begin. If you have already ordered you may be able to cancel or put that order on hold. You may get in there and find the outputshaft is bad or that there are other issues and then you will need to reevaluate if the trans is worth rebuilding and if there are other parts you need to order.

I talked about that with modern driveline.
he said the possibility of a bad input shaft was rare and I should be okay...I live in a cave..If i tore than thing down now half the parts would migrate before the new stuff got here. I dont have the luxury of a nice work room....or even a work bench.
As it stands now im going to be pulling it apart on a 3 x 3 slab of weeping willow trunk on a driveway made of sand...
See you don't have it that bad after all
