Default Questions on torn torque boxes

Hey guys,

My '91 GT street car needs to have the lower boxes fixed. This car is fairly stock and has never been to the track or launched. Now, my question is can I just get away with only doing the lowers and not the upper boxes?

How much should I spend (in labor) for a shop to perform this repair? Is this something most people can perform in their driveway?

Thanks in advance,

Eric

you'll need a mig welder to do it properly , as far as cost, depends on how much reinforcement you do.....do you plan to race it??

x2 for the wild rides kit. I had torn one of my lowers almost completely out and the other was beginning to crack. I did the wild rides kit for the uppers and lowers and it really firmed up the ride and ensured that they wont break anymore. There are reinforcements on the inside and outside of the car.

A pic. I don't recall my uppers being torn at all (I took this pic a long time ago), but I was overall surprised to find this on such a low mileage car.

are you asking where a fox torque box IS? if so, the lowers are where the lower control arm bolts on the chassis

http://www.miracerros.com/mustang/t_suspension.htm
