Smog Pump hose/tube missing

Smog Pump hose/tube missing
I was working under my car the other day when I happened to catch site of a small pencil sized hole in my smog pump, the hole is threaded so I'm wondering what goes there and where it goes lol
I'm not too worried about it as emissions aren't necessary for me, just kind of curious
