Default Explorer motor balancer?????

I was changing the oil on the wife's new 94gt, and while I was under there I was going to mark the timing mark on 14*. I turned the motor over and there is NO timing marks. The car has an explorer motor with gt40p heads, so I was wondering if the balancener form a mustang is the same. I can get one off ebay with timing marks for a mustang pretty cheap.

I looked on carquest website and 97-00 are all the same balancer and it looks like they are a 28oz or internally balanced. Pull the balancer off and see if it has a counterwieght in the back like this one.http://c2c.activant.com scroll to the bottom to see the counterweight. If it does not have that it is internally balanced. There are 2 internally balanced harmonic balancers for the Explorer a 3 bolt and a 4 bolt.

It does not have that weight, and is a 4 bolt. Is a mustang internally balanced 28oz or 50oz?

it will be a 50 oz external balance... a balancer from an 87-95 mustang will be the same...
