tightening the parking brake cable?
theres some areas in town i wont park my car, the cable could really be tightened up. If anyone can tell me where i can do this on my 95 gt i would appriciate it. rather have an idea where it is then start pulling things apart, thanks.

Usually the cable runs along the undercairrage close to or around the driveshaft.there should be a tightener on it somewhere,if not Advanced auto has brake cable adjustors in the help section. If you could get the car on a lift, you can find the cable easy. If no lift, a good jack that will go high enough for you to crawl all the way under will work.

i actually found out surfing the web that ford had a recall for the parking brake self adjustment for 1995 mustangs equipped with manual trans (or something in the parking brake assembly) im in the process to find out if i qualify for this, but thanks for the reply

generally the adjustment is down on the handle under console, I may be wrong, but I'd make sure the rear calipers are working since the e -brake is part of the screw type calipers on sn-95's

thats what i though, i had removed the center console of my girls S197 to do some stereo work and saw and adjuster on it which made me think if i had this as well? I know the rear breaks, as well as front and ABS system, are in good shape i had to hit em pretty hard a few nights ago to stop for a deer. thanks again though
