horn switch problem
Hey just wondering what you think about my little problem. I have an 87 gt. when i got it the horn fuse was out, i stuck a new one in and the horn was going off like the horn switch in the steering wheel was stuck on. I can't remember if i took the fuse out or it finally blew, but now every time i put a new fuse in it blows. i'm pretty sure i'm shorting out somewhere or the switch it just stuck. any ideas where to start?

The foam is most likely worn down in the horn pad. Pop the pad off an take the rubber cover off the pad and you will see a foam layer over the copper contacts. You either need to cut a piece of foam like the old piece or put something in there. Last summer I took my pad apart when I had the same problem and I took one of those foam rings you get that come with cd spindles and put that around the biggest contact in the middle and put it back together and it works like new.
