Default engine combo... need advice

im thinking about set my engine up like this. to me this sounds like a good setup but and input is good. edlelbrock performer series carb 600 cfm, edelbrock air gap maifold, afr 185 heads(not sure what chamber vol. 72 or 58cc) and prob a e303 cam, because i dont know how much lift i can have and i know that is a safe cam. it will prob just be a 306 engine... does anyone know how much hp this combo will make or if it is even a good combo.
thanks much

165s would be a better choice for a mild small motor from what I hear.

My guess is 320-30 RWHP......

sounds fun

Edit: the TFS1 cam is just as safe and supposedly a more modern/better performing design.

lift has nothing to do with ptv...it's a matter of valve timing events, I ran a xe 282 cam in a 306 with the proper provisions in the pistons to run a 185 head and with other bolt on parts it ran low 12's and with a better driver it was a high 11 car easy

haha, are you saying you're not a good driver MJ? =)

you don't think 185's are too big for a 302? ...just curious...

ps. and I really have to learn how to quote.

why not use the trickflow twisted wedge heads? they have a little better airflow and cost less

it's called use the quote icon in the lower right hand corner of a post you wish to quote......as for being a better driver I'm decent, I meant more so one who is willing to push their ride to the limit, I'm not willing or more so I always leave a little in the bag usually at the line and I don't powershift, so as to save a tranny, I've torn up more than my fair share of gears in a t-5 due to missed shifts or forced shifts

^^^^I like to try and enjoy my ride rater than destroy it, however , every year I seem to tear apart one of my rides to go faster, and once again this year I have taken apart my perfectly fine running 85 motor to make it faster...when will it stop.....
