Default SC question

I have the oppertunity to get a SC off of an early 90's t-bird for dirt cheap, will this work on my 89 lx that is basically stock or should I let it go?

And I just purchased a cobra intake for my car, if the SC works, should I use the stock or the cobra, and what will I need to do to my car to get this SC working?

Thanks ahead of time for any help!!

If it's off of a 6 banger, no it won't. A lil more info on the doaner car would be a great help.

m90's can work on 5.0's but have to have custom brackets and other work. I seen a pic of one mounted over on the side of the accessories. It probably doesn't put out enough to run a 302 efficiently enough.

Here you go. twin m90's on a 351 looks bad *** better than looking at turbos I think.

You will have to do some fabrication. Personally I don't find it hard, but if you've never done any metal work like welding/cutting metal it may be a task. The m90 will work great on a 5.0 if you plan on staying below 400hp. Stock it will perform well on a stock or near stock 5.0. Porting & modifying the case will help quite a bit or you could buy an aftermarket case. The rotors can be upgraded aswell the older m90's from the tbird don't have coated rotors.

In any case, it's a good upgrade for the cost & can be done cheap depending on what & where you source the parts & where you mount it.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the info guys....like I said I am able to get this dirt cheap, around $100 for SC and cooler. It is coming from a friend of a friend, so I am not buying it blind.

Staying under 400 HP is not a problem. I have no plans of getting up there any time soon, but when I do I will be asking for advice here.

Aside from mounting modifications, what will I need to do to get this to work?

Should I use a stock intake or the cobra one? One more question, I have 219hp at the wheels now, what can I expect with this SC??

Thanks guys!!

With a roots supercharger the carb or throttle body has to be upstream of the supercharger. Running the supercharger before the throttle plate or carb would cause damage to the belt or carb/tb

What's required depends on where you mount the s/c. Personally I prefer over the passenger side valve cover, which has multiple ways still yet. The cheapest way i've found is to mount close to the valve cover, relocate the alt (for a better wrap), relocate the oil fill tube to the rear of the valve cover instead of the front so the s/c will fit, then use the stock belt with a decent wrap around it.

Then you have to take care of fuel & fuel management which you have multiple options. I personally prefer the megasquirt I v3.0 & a cheap wideband o2/controller like summits or aem 6in1. The reason I prefer the ms/wb route is for future upgrading

Hp you can expect depends on your setup/tune/psi.
