Default Cam Selections

Hey, got a question. My fox body bottom end is stock and I'm looking at getting a bit more aggressive camshaft over my E-303. I was looking at the Z-303 camshaft. I already have GT40X heads on it with the stronger valve springs. What i was wondering is if the valve to piston clearance will be ok, or if i might should go with the X-303 camshaft. Sorry if it might be a newb question, just want to see some of the input.

Not that much differance between the two cams but you need to check Piston to valve clearance with either. I doubt you have a problem but always wise to check.

Yeah i always check my piston to valve clearance. I just was wondering if anyone has used the Z-303 in a stock bottom end.

If you're going to swap cams you might as well get something newer than an alphabet cam.

what other cams would u possibly suggest? I helped my buddy put an x-303 camshaft in his 85 fox, he also put a new wieand intake mani, but anyways we bolth were very surprised and happy with then increased power output. But that's really the only ford racing cam i have ever got to try out.

Best bet would probably be to check out what people with similar setups are running.

They have whole kits too, basicly everything you need. Probably what I'll get when I get some f'ing disposable income to spend on my HCI (52 years from now...lol ).
