Default Magical Low Oil Light...Yay.

So I was driving home last night and stopped at the 7-Eleven down the street. After I got back into the car and started it up the Low Oil light came on. So, I went back inside and picked up a couple quarts of the exact oil I used in an oil change I did when I first got my ride. Well, I go home and let it sit over night for the oil to settle for an acurate reading. Well, this morning, I checked the dipstick, but the dipstick showed I was MAYBE a quart low. I went ahead and topped her off with a quart and then drove on to work. On the way I stopped at the same 7-Eleven, then went on to work. Since no one was here, I went ahead and opened up the bay doors and stuffed my girl inside the warehouse for safe keeping (I work in a ghetto...literally). Well, I shut off the engine so I could go inside and open the bay doors. When I went to start her up to pull her into the warehouse, the damn Low Oil light came on again. Wtf? I just now checked the oil level again, and I'll be damned if it's full. What on earth could be causing this? Is there a "reset" I need to do? I thought that was only for the check oil light when time is up for an oil change?

fox mustangs have no such feature to my knowledge as far as the low oil light, most likely a bad sensor in the side of the pan

...They do have a sensor! (dummy light when you have low amounts of oil) ...it mounted on the left side of the oil pan...I would keep checking your dip stick to make sure you have the proper oil quanity in the car until you can replace...

Leaking any oil?

That's what I figured. I have an SN95 5.0, but I'm sure the same still applies. I'll just do a KOEO/KOER test to see what codes it pulls.

Oh, while I'm on the subject, my ABS light is blinking at me. The timing is as follows:

2 blinks with a half second pause between each, two second pause, then five blinks with half a second between each, then 6 second pause and back to the two blinks. So, I guess it's telling me error code 25, but I thought SN95's had a 3 digit code? Or is that only for KOEO/KOER tests?

That's what's so weird. I'm not leaking oil, and I'm certainly not burning any to a large degree (to the best of my feeble knowledge). But it ONLY comes on after I warm the car up, run around for a couple minutes, shut her down, then start her back up again. I'm going to keep an eye on the oil level, but I'm definitely going to replace the sensor if this keeps ocurring when oil level are, in fact, nominal.

lol! I'm about ready to do just that. It seems like every time I pull into that 7-Eleven, a damn invisible grimlin gets under my hood and starts breaking things. I've had more MIL's pop on when in that lot than in ANY OTHER PLACE! It all started with my '97 Malibu...

The same thing happens to me, when im just about a quart low. it only happens really if I go about 3500 miles... my car must burn just a bit. When I top it off the light goes away. I would rather the light turn on sooner than later
