Default How to replace washer fluid switch?

How do you pop off the washer fluid switch thats at the back of the resivoir? i popped off the little clip and tried to twist and pull the switch and nothing happens. i would rather ask here first before i break the mating area on the resivoir. thanks

This is from the 89 Ford Shop Manual.

For Testing the pump the Manual says;
Attach leads of the volt-amp tester, the current draw should not exceed four amps, or indicate less two amps, while washer pump motor is pumping fluid.
