And for my 2 cents on this post... use the P heads and a nice cam (not a letter cam) along with a valvetrain upgrade and you should see a good amount of power. I wouldnt use the exploder bottom end though.. Explorers get treated like taurus' do... very very badly. Its probably in worse shape than your current bottom end. Also, the higher compression of your stock motor and the forged pistons will be nice to have
I don't have the mods listed cause I don't own it anymore lol, but it had AFR 165s, E303, Professional Products 70mm throttle body and Typhoon Manifold, 75 mm mass air, BBK longtubes, BBk catted x pipe, mac catback, mac cai, 24 lb injectors. Oh it also had a dyno tune, picked up around 20 rwhp from that. Put the mods in my sig now lol, since a bunch of people keep asking.

GOOD NEWS...I spent a few hours today in the boneyard and scored some GT40P heads and both upper and lower intakes from a '98 Explorer. The best part was everything only cost me $104 tax included. Since the explorer was hit had in the *** end, I knew it wasn't there because of mechanical issues. I'm pretty happy with that deal since that's all I planed on using from the explorer engine anyhow.

Thanks to all you guys for your input and advice!
