Default 5 speed over hual help.

I am in the process of making a list of parts for my build, but am lost on the tranny. I want to keep it manual b/c autos are boring. I am going to be building a supercharged 347 on a stock block with a stroker kit from fordstrokers.com. I am aiming for at least 450 to the wheels and want the tranny to handle it of course. I have rebuild an t56 while at wyotech so I am somewhat familiar with the building part. Thing is I have no idea where to find a kit to make the tranny able to handle the power. I would like it to be able to handle somewhere around 550 hp or more to be on the safe side. It is going to be a street/strip car but no a daily driver.

Also I have heard of people changong the gearing in the tranny, and was wonder what the desired changes are for the 5 speed. I believe people have been changong 1st and 5th? Anyway, and input on both question would be great.

get a tremec...or astro performance t-5 kit or g-force t-5 kit, but by the time you do all that, it'd be cheaper to buy a tremec

a built tremec t5 would be enough to handle it but a TKO would put any worries to rest. depends on your expectation and how much you wanna spend

well as mjr46 said, if I can get a tremis for the same price or for fairly close to the same price I will do that. I dont want a auto for the street. Way to boring (just me lol). A all out track car I would bet nothiong but a well built auto. So any idea where I can look at some good 5 or 6 speeds for a fair price?
