woahhh $800?! thats crazy...where did you hear 800? maybe a brand new one? as far as i know it should bolt up? 8.8in? even a 9in would fit but usually they're out of older fords, and alot more heavy duty for strip use.

800 was from a differential shop so a 8.8 would fit and be good for a daily driver and occasional track use

yea should just bolt right up. i bought mine used from a guy who parted out a 90' GT i think. it already has 3.73's in it, i was told. the guy seemed chill, said he raced mustangs and didnt seem like the kinda guy that would rip me off, so well just have to see. hah but its an 8.8in shouldnt have any probs

8.8 out of explorer is going to be too wide

Modular mustang 8.8 rear but thats going to be 3/4" wider on each side

Lincoln Mark 7 8.8 that will also be 3/4" to wide if it has ABS and not have stabilizer shock mounts like GT axles, most have airplane gears in them too unless you find a diesel one (rare)

Rear from a GT/LX 79-93 will be a direct bolt in just have to find one with the gears you want

All this is assuming you have a 7.5" rear your wanting to get rid of.

If you have an 8.8 already a good set of gears for your 8.8 new is like 250 get a good set of instructions on how to correctly mesh them up with the paint and have at it, save yourself the bux
